2ZW RADIO CLUB
At a >arge and enthusiastic meeting of listeners the 2ZW Kadio Club was formally constituted last night. It was announced that though* no organised canvass had been made the membership had reachod over'l4oo in seven days. Speakers paid high tributes to the service given, and the meeting was unanimously of the opinion that tho station must be kept on the air to provide an alternative programme. The rules' adopted provide- for the payment of club revenue-into a trust account to bo administered as tho committeo may determine.
Tho following officers were appoint--eil:—Chairman. Mr. Will Appleton; committee, Messrs. L. J. Greenberg A Sando, D. McLaren, L. C. Gibbons, W. Ingle, \V. fortune, C. H. Downes, E. E. Scott, and Mrs. Dore; hon socretarytroasurer, Mr. C. S. Ncill; hon. solicitors, Professor Cornish and Mr. A. J. Luke; hon. auditors, Messrs. Clarke and Mullins,
Tho chairman said that listeners did not want an overplus of advertising over the air, and a club of strong membership, possibly of SOOO to 10,000, would bo- the strongest argument for a subsidy toward an. alternative service for the- Wellington district.
