LOCAL MANAGEMENT
ihe weekly meeting of the Management Committee of. the Wellington Rugby League was held last evening those present being Messrs. W. Corcoran (chairman), Ball, Searle, Palleson, Power, and 1. B. Hogan- (hon. secretary). Ihe Celtic Club- was granted permission to send its team to Auckland. The Canterbury Rugby League asked that its representative team meet a Wellington representative team at Wellington.. It wqs decided to meet the request, and to play the game on 24th September, | the visitors to be allowed 60 per cent of the net gate proceeds. The Canterbury League congratulated Wellington on the i progress being made in furthering the code, and advised that in Canterbury the game was making rapid strides. Meet was given to a request by the Railway Rugby Club (Lower Hutt) that its colours, black and wjiite, be registered. -Lne request was acceded to. The Randwick Club wrote asking that the game Petone v. Randwiek, played on 2ith August, be replayed as the club was not satisfied, with the referee's- rulings No action was taken. .-, *rHe Ife-iy Zealand Rugby League advised that the reinstatement of E. T. Mincham and R. Sherson had been approved. Advice was received that .the team from the Marist Club,. Greymouth, would arrive in Wellington to-morrow (Friday) morning, and would be returning home, on Monday evening. kAn entertainment committee was set up in connection with the Marist team's visit. Mi-. C. Searle was appointed manager of the Wellington team, and Mr. J. Goodall was appointed reieree. , *
The following fixtures were drawn for Saturday week:—Celtic v. Petone. Show Grounds. 1.45 p.m.; Newtown v. Railway Rivals, Show Grounds, 3 p.m. The following players were registered-— £. E. Luke J. Cotterell, F. G. Edgar, V w-'T' R--H»«i r G- King, W. Wyett M. Williams, and W. Welch.
