LATE SIR W.MPPHERSON
BEQUESTS TO EMPLOYEES
MELBOURNE, 26th August.
The late Sir "William MePherson, a former Premier of Victoria, left an es-! tate valued at £435,133. He bequeathed £1000 each to*five employees and a further £,5000 to all his employees with over five years' service provided that they: had not participated in a strike or been concerned in any action to that end. The residue goea to his three children. Testator made liberal bequests to charities during his lifetime. The late Sir "William McPherson was governing director of MePherson's Proprietary, Ltd., merchants and manufacturers, with branches at Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, and Perth. For twelve years he was Commissioner of tho Melbourne Harbour Trust, and he was a past president of the Melbourno Chamber of Commerce.' He was Premier of Victoria in 1928-29. -
