BROADCASTING STATIONS
(To the Editor.)
Sir.—A temporary physical disability has delayed my replying to the recent letter from Messrs. Eraser and McKeen, who seem hard pressed to invent excuses for their anti-Socialistic attitude iv supporting the monopoly held by the "B" station 2ZW. Like a number of other people who have lent their support to the agitation for the broadcasting of advertisements, it is clear they have been misled. As for the jibe anent my assuming the mantle of Labour merely for the occasion, it seems to me this is an admission of the weakness of the case they attempt to support. If either of the gentlemen referred to had made the slightest inquiry they would have learned the truth of my statement that other firms would afford listeners the same service as 2ZW without agitating for permission to advertise. The plain fact is that 2ZW has a most unique monopoly and a very dangerous one, and I take it this is now plain to [Messrs. Kraser and McKeen. All I wish to say in conclusion is that other firms must be given the same opportunity, and I suggest the two Labour members would be better engaged in seeing justice done iv this direction.—l am, etc.,
LABOURITE.
26th August.
