ROTORUA TOURNEY

... ROTORUA, 26th August. ■ -The.Rotorua Golf Club's open tournament, was concluded to-day in ideal golfing weather,' when G. Tallis (Titirangi) defeated F. Fryer (Napier), 6 and o, in the open championship. Both were patchy in the morning round, but Tallis improved in the afternoon and played excellent golf. Fryer was unlucky at some holes, but was inconsistent and unreliable on the green.
The Thermal Cup was won by another Titirangi player, L. F. Murray, who beat G, Napier, Whakatane, 5 and 4. :,The New Zealand veterans' tourney opens on Monday.
