NOT ALWAYS HOPELESS
Wbile racing at Birmingham, last November, a mare named Aldesean broke a sesamoid bone and completely ruptured the lateral ligaments* of the fetlock joint —in other words, she fractured a fetlock joint. Mr. Michael Sadler, a veterinary surgeon of Burton-on-Trent, was given the task of trying to save the mare for the stud, and he effected a complete cure. The mare was place in wooden splints for two months, and then in slings for another cis months*.
