TWO WINS IN CALIFORNIA
(Deceived 27th August, 2.15 p.m.): SANTA BARBARA (CALIF), . 26th August. The Australian cricketers beat the Muntecito Cricket Club, of Santa Barbara, at the Peabody's Stadium on. Wednesday. The local team played eighteen men and batted first. They, were dismissed for 58 runs, McCaba' taking eight wickets for 30 runs, Ives four for 10, and Fleetwood-Smith five for 12. The Australians lost six wickets for 387. Nutt and Kippax made a, useful opening. Bradman made shots all around the wicket. The match was of great educational value to an attendance of spectators. Tolhurst and! Iycs entertained the crowd with terrific ■ hitting. The. principal scores by the) Australians were as follows:—Richard--j son 18, Kippax 54, Bradman 121, Me-! Cabe 15, Nutt 58, Tolhurst 52, Ives (not! out) 46, and Carney (not out) 18. The Australians defeated the Hollywood Cricket Club by 209 runs for fiva , wickets to 99, the Hollywood side play-, ing eighteen men. Bradman scored 48, MeCabe 66, and Kippax 64. The Hollywood team included former British; I players now in the movies—Boris Karloff, H. B. Warner, Desmond Roberts, i Murray Kinnell, Claude King, and a i Smith. .
