SYNOPSIS OF LAST 24 HOURS. _ A slight depression extends across southern New Zealand, but barometers have remained fairly uniform over the rest of the country, with a tendency to rise. Winds have been light to moderate and variable and the weather has been fair in most districts. Rain, however, fell yesterday in North Auckland, as much as 60 points being reported at Cape Maria van Dlemen, and there have also been some light showers in Foveaus Strait.
