HUTT VISIT WAIRARAPA

BEATEN IN BOTH MATCHES

The Hutt Golf Club's strong visiting team was defeated by both the Wairarapa and Masterton Golf Clubs dining the week-end. The standard of golf, as always in these events, was high amongst the leaders of the teams. HUTT v. WAIRARAPA. Hutt was defeated by Wairarapa at Rototowai by six games to five. Hutt Club was played at the Lansdowne links during the -week-end. The" weather was perfect, and'some very, good golf was witnessed. T. 11. Horton played a round of ) against Rana Wagg's 74, and in the leading team's fourball, the best ball was 64, eight 3Vand ten 4's, being recorded over the eighteen holes. V last Tuesday the Karori ' Club had the pleasure of entertaining the Port Nicholson Ladles' team for an inter-clijb match. The evening' was concluded with supper. The shoot was also the third of the championship series, and the'first'half of a fortnightly trophy competition. Top scores for the evening were put on by Caldwell, .Frankland, and King, who shot a possible 70 each. This puts Frankland Into the enviable position of not yet having dropped a point in the championship series. In the B grade McXeil and -Nichols tied for pride of place with 68 each.
