THE WEATHER OUTLOOK

Under the influence, of a moderate anti-cyclone 'which crossed-the Dominion on Sunday, the weather on both Saturday and Sunday was'fine; practically generally, only a few isolated showers having fallen la" districts with, a -westerly- aspect. By Sunday temperatures hafl become'milder owing to the winds having changed to northerlies. During Sunday • night, fiowever, slight depressions crossed.both the North'and South Islands.' The northern brought heavy rain to places" in the northernmost districts, and a teyr scattered falls in other parts of the North Island. The, southern depression was accompanied by rain only in parts of South Westland and Foveaux Strait. At--9 a.m. to-day rain was 'falling in the far north and south, but elsewhere fine weather was still prevailing, and light to moderate variable winds. There was fine weather at Auckland on Saturday, but yssterday it became dull, and rain fell last night. Beautiful weather was experienced on Saturday and Sunday at the other chief centres.

The forecast is for moderate to strong westerly winds, backing later to southerlies in places south of Eawhia and Napier. The weather is likely to be fair at first in eastern districts, cloudy in western districts, ,with showers, and later showers extending up the east, .coast..
