The first round, of the senior and junior championships of the Titahi Club were played on Saturday.
In the senior championship, M. Moore beat A. Moore, 1 Up; J, W. Gibson beat Dr. R. F. Aitken, 5 and 4; C. Langbein beat D. A. Crombie. 1 up at the twentieth; H. Boon beat P. J. Murphy, 2 and 1. In the junior championship E. Picot beat C. S. Brice, 6 and 5; L. Spiller beat C. btone, 5 and 3; R. G. Mexted beat W. Gilchrist. 2 and 1; Dr. W. F. Shirer beat C. H. Hayward, 8 and 6. Matches played in the Stone-Alward Cup competition resulted as follows:—L. A. Hutton beat P. E. Baillie, 2 up; W. Davis beat Burgess, jun.,.l up; W. Meade beat T.. K. Bin-gess, 1 up at the nineteenth; P, A. Bruford beat A. Williams, 2 and 1; S. Gyles beat C. Douglas f 4 and 3; -H. Pearce beat S.; Crighton, 7 and 6. The second round' of the Desert Gold mixed foursome tournament resulted its follows:—Miss McKee and Can- beat Miss Dobson and Tunningtori,- 5: and 4; Dr. Helen Bakewell and Dr.-Aitkeri beat Miss White and Langbein, 2 and 1; TUisa Mitchell and Blow beat Miss Davis-and A. Moore, 3 and .1: Miss AVilson and Crombie beat Miss Batham and Dr. Shirer, 1 up.
