FROZEN MEAT MARKET.

Messrs. Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from their London agents, dated 29th July:—"Frozen meat quotations (prices on a "delivered" basis, i.e., including storage charges, cartage, market tolls, etc.): North ' Island down lambs, 28-361b, 5%d per lb- ditto 36421b, 5%d; best North Island crossbred lambs, 28-361b, 5 l-8d; ditto, 36-421b, 4d; North Island second quality lambs, average 30-311b, i%; best North Island wether sheep, under 481b, i l-8d; ditto, 48-561b 3 3-8d; ditto, 56-641b, 3d; ditto, 64-721bi 2 7-8d; North Island ewes, under 481b, 2%d; ditto, 48-561b, 2 3-8d; ditto, 56-641b. 2%d; ditto, 64-721b, 2 l-8d; New Zealand prime ox beef, 160-2201b, 2%d. Compared with last .week's quotations, down lamb 28-361b, %d per lb lower; 36-421b, a-8d per lb lower, best crossbred lamb and second quality lamb %d per lb lower, best wethers under 481b l-8d per lb lower, others unchanged. The market is depressed and the outlook unfavourable."

The Bank of New Zealand, Produce Department, haa received the following advice from its London office as at close of business this week:—"The market for wethers is steady and no material change is expected yet. The demand for ewes is moderate and prices are a shade lower. There is a fair demand for lamb. Larger supplies have caused prices to weaken Ihe market for beef is depressed owing to heavy supplies of Argentine. Trade generally is affected by heavy supplies Wethers, light, 3d to 4 l-8d per lb; heavy, •2%d to 3d; ewes, 2d to 2y 2 d; lambs, 2's 5d to 5%d, B's 5d to 5%d, 4's 5d to 5%d, seconds 4%d to sd; ox hinds, 3d to 3%d----fores, 19£d to 2d; cow hinds, 2%d to 29idfores, l%d to. 1%d."
