TREATMENT OF RETURNED SOLDIERS
"D.5.0." supports the complaint of "One of Them" concerning the Government's treatment of returned soldiers, and refers patricularly to returned men whose services were dispensed with by the Defence Department, while others were retained. The writer claims also that these men were'deprived of leave accumulated during the war years and of annual leave earned under Military Regulations, and had their superannuation reduced on the ground that they had not completed their service, though this was not the fault of the men, but of the Government. "Single Returned Soldier," also' referring to "One of Them's" letter, holds that single returned men are fully entitled to, and will surely receive, consideration from the Public Service Commissioner if they are able to do the work, 8 . _
