Tickets for Church
.It is wrong to ' deny: a ticketless parishioner entry to a,church~where^an admission-by-ticket wedding' is taking place. Such is the reply of the Legal Board of the Church Assembly to an inquiry as to the right of the incumbent to limit admission to the church to persons having tickets, particularly in the case of weddings (states a correspondent). Tickets, the board decided, could.be issued for 'a weddings ticket-holders: being-warned !to arrive at a certain time in* order to ensure a seat—but: no ■parishioner could;be refused admission oh the ground' of; not havmg a ticket. The board' also stated that in the case of" episcopal enthronements—not being a . service which the public ,had an absolute right to. attend—the. proper authority could issue tickets and decide . who should be present. Ensembles ", carefully combined at one's dressmaker's are invariably unsuccessful on being seen at home. Only after a carefully-combined ' ensemble has been worn does one know if it is right or wrong. In ten cases out of twelve it is the latter.
You can get along with one pair of too-large gloves for day'and sports, but evening gloves are a charming luxury. ■
