BUTCHERS' DEBTS
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) .NEW PLYMOUTH, 29th July. Charged with conducting business in a manner which brought them within tha provisions of the Bankruptcy Act, William Edmund Reesby- arid Thomas Charles Eaesby, formerly butchers of New Plymouth, were committed for trial to-day by Mr. R. W. Tate, S.M. . They pleaded not guilty to eight charges that on various dates they contracted debts with individuals and firms, without at the time having reasonable or probable expectation of 'being able to pay those as well as other debts. They woro also charged with failing, during the three years prior to bankruptcy, to keep proper books. Bail was fixed at £100 each and a surety of £100 was allowed in each case.
