ENGINEERS' RIGHTS AND DUTIES

By the regulations made from time to time under tho Act it is provided that any person, desiring'to be registered as a civil engineer must first have passed the matriculation ex-, lamination of the University of New. Zealand (including mechanics) and; including the engineering preliminary -of ; the University. An sipphcaiit who pos-1 sesses the. prescribed qualifications :is' entitled to be registered under the Act, and to have his name recorded upon the register of engineers. "The board may cancel the registration of any person who is convicted of an, offence punishable by imprisonment 'or dishonouring hini, in tho public .estimation, or who has been guilty of such, improper conduct as renders him, in-the' Opinion of the board, unfit. to: be registered under the Act. Every porson whose application haa been declined by the. board, or whose "name, has been removed from registration, may within three months after such refusal or removal has been communicated to him by the registrar, appeal to a board of appeal .consisting "of a Magistrate and two assessors, and the determination of such board of appeal shall be final and conclusive."
