WAR LOAN CONVERSION

Some 74,0.00 further applications for conversion of war loan were received by the Bank of England yosterday. Only 800 applications were for redomptiou. .The total applications to date aro as follows i^Bank of England, . 1,085,000 ; Post. Office Savings 'feank, .666,000; Trustees Savings Bank, 86,000j Bank of Ireland, 31,000. The grand total is 1,869,000, of which 1,755,000 aro for conversion. Tho total, holdings are about .2,600,000. The Swiss Bank {Corporation yesterday deposited for conversion holdings of £1,000,000, and other largo applications were announced from Switzerland and South Africa. The full staff will work at the Bank of England through Bank Holiday, Ist August, to deal with last-miu'ute applications.
