The'report of "the chairman, Mr. L". OJH.' Tripp, at yesterday's meeting of the War: .Relief Asspciatioii.-Jof Ay.elling.tphj stated that. 'he emergency!, committee" met. on 21 occasions siuce the executive meeting; of. 24thr June; 1032, and; during that period, dealt with "121- claims, all of which were: 'referred'1 -to and % confirmed by the -Applications Committee, which met on five occasions, and disposed of 238 applications, of which 53. were •claims from-those who had not previously approached the fund. There were 80 applications still under action, and the iota] number of claims received amounted to 316. The number1 o£ persons who called at the 'office, during the period under review was- 466. There was no.alteration in the general .activities of the committee. . Assistance differing: widely in description! was given, partially disabled soldiers, to-others who were discharged fit and subsequently developed a war disability, to the .widowed mothers and widows of soldiers who fell in action, and in other directions.
