The GovernorGeneral, Lord Bessborough, entered a crowded House of Com? mons Chamber and read a message from the King. The Conference dispatched a. loyal resolution and received a reply before it adjourned. r • .Mr. Baldwin proposed, and Mr. Bruce seconded, that Mr. Bennett should be appointed permanent chairman. The Conference unanimously agreed. , :'■ ■ ' ' '. . Mr. Bennett outlined, Canada's aims. Messrs. Baldwin (Britain) , Bruce (Australia), Coates (New Zealand), Havenga (South Africa), O'Kelly (Irish Free State),and Sir AtulChatterjee (India), followed* giving a preliminary survey ofhopes and plans, all hidicating_an earnest desire'for sincere efforts to achieve substantial results. Mr. Bruce.said that it was unthinkable that the Conference should fail. , The delegates reassemble im camera- this afternoon to discuss procedure. ■
