A WORK OF LOVE

(To the Editor.)

Sir, —To-day is the second anniversary of the opening of the "Children's Club," which is held twice weekly at the Spiritualist Hall, Kent terrace. These children, who are . not able to . teaxn with others at school, are: brought here by the mothers, where they are helped with anything they are capable of doing, the afternoon finishing up with games, skipping, etc. It is in this small corner that these little ones, who are going to miss so much of the joys and' beauty of life, know with unerring instinct that they arc welcome and wanted.'This club was started two years ago, not io much for the children as their motherß, who are relieved of all responsibility for the afternoon, and are free to go where they will. How much this rest is appreciated is best known when one gets into conversation with any of these mothers, who are faced with a tragedy, often misjudged by those who do not understand. And what cau ono say of these biff souls who volunteer to do this work, work calling for special patience, and untiring energy? Is not theirs a very practical religion, far-reach-ing and sorely needed? Words cannot express the gratitude of those to whom this service is rendered, but in our hearts we know that, touched by their love' and care, wakened by krodnestv; chords' that were broken, will vibrate, one* more.— I am, etc., • • E. M. COOPER.
