Mr. 8. Blackley presided over » meeting of the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board yesterday.' There ■ were »i«o present Means. A. Walker, A. J. fiobbs, A, W. Press, W. H. Lawrence, L. Stewart, J. J. Maher, W. H. P. Barber, J. W, McEwan, and R. W. Bothaniley. ■ A fsHing-off in revenue from domes* tic lighting,is shown by a report;presented by the engineer-general manager (Mr. E. F. Hollands), The board's revenue from electricity sales for the quarters ended 90th: Junei, 1932 s and 1031, respectively are as follows to this nearest pound: Domestic .lighting, £10,605 (£11,120); commercial lighting, £2657 (£2199); heating and cooking, £5*51 (£5112); water heating, £2263 (£3106)? power, £7128 (£7321); public lighting, £1291 (£1261). Deducting discounts, the net revenue was £27,185 (£27,481). Mr. Hollands remarked that the fall in revenue from domestic lighting could b* expected through the general economy, and from the fact that consumers wsr« taking advantage of the heating rate a,nd installing second meters at the. lower charge. '.' Statistical returns for June, -with totals to date in parentheses, were presented as follows:—Number of consumers, . 27 (10*8); ranges, 5 (1496); water h«*.t<ets, 6 ;1284). The connected load ih..K.W. totalled 168 (39,437), made up of ittht VI (4944), heat 141 (27,018), and power M (7475). The maximum demand ...from Helling was 3264 X.V.A, on Tuesday, 7th June, at 5.30 p.m. at .96 power factor. From Khandallah the maximum demand was 1800 X.V.A. on Thursday, »tlj June, at 5J5 p.m. at unity power-factor. Unit* registered for the month totalled 1^80,500 from Melting and 713,700 from Khandallah. V .;
