The northern disturbance has moved slowly eastwards and, pressure having fallen at the same time In the South, the gradient is now loss steep over the Dominion than It was .yesterday. Strong southerly winds and showery conditions were still in evidence this morning along the cast coast south of East Cape, but elsewhere winds.were light to moderate with easterlies or south-easterlies prevailing. Tho eastern districts generally have had unsettled, squally weather, while it has been mainly flne In tho western provinces, but temperatures have been very cold everywhere. At 9 a.m. to-day it w-'is snowing at Clirlstchurch, and snow fell last night on the hills surrounding Dunedin,
