Following ti{>pn the reports which appeared in the 'cablegrams last week stating that. Orangemen had attacked and damaged the Anglican Cathedral in Liverpool, and had -invaded and attacked Roman Catholic districts in Belfast, the Parliamentary Committee of the Grand Orange Lodge of New Zealand cabled as follows to Jlr. Joseph Davison, Grand Orange Lodge secretary for Northern Ireland:— "Cable reports s.;ate Orangemen attacked and damaged . Liverpool Anglican Cathedral, also attacked Komanist quarterß Belfast. Reports unsatisfactory. Please cable .facts. This morning the committee received the following cable from Mr. Davison:— "Orangemen had nothing whatever" to do with attack on Liverpool Protestant Cdthedial. Repoit absolutely absurd. Equally untrue to Bay Roman Catholic quartern in Belfast Wore attacked. Squabble took place in one street, but no riots. Judge of Assize to-day compliments Belfast upon pence and quietude of city."
