PRIZES PRESENTED

EVANS BAY YACHT CLUB

rl'he presentation of ptizes won by members of the Evans Bay Yacht and Motorboat Club during the past season took place at a social evening held in the clubhouse last evening. There was a large gathering of yachtsmen and thciv friends.

The commodore, Mr. L. Ibbotson, welcomed the visitors, and said that tho club had had one of the most successful seasons in ita history. Evidence of that fact was given by the large number of cups and other prizes. -Mr. 0. Moller, chairman of the Wellington Provincjal Yacht and Motor-boat Association, paid a tribute to the club on its enterprise and acknowledged the valuable work which it had done in the interests of the sport. lie urged the club to continue to support the association.

Repreaentatives of the other yacht clubs also spoke, congratulating the Evans Bay Club ou its success and assuring it of their co-operation and goodwill.

Before presenting the prizes, the president, Mr. I". C. Holmes, congratulated Mr. Ibbotson and his executive officers on their activities during the season. He mentioned that the Betty, four times winner of the Sanders Cup, was in the market, her owner, Mr. W. H. Wagstaff, feeling that he had achieved the purpose for which he had acquired the boat.
