■RECENT CHEESE PRICES

DTJNEDIN, This Day.
The activity in the cheese market is hailed with pleasure-by the ninety factories in the South Island Dairy Association. Though tho reported rise in price -to 6d a pound f.0.b., at which figure sales have lately taken place from stocks awaiting shipment, is of greater concern to the South Island, seeing that tho" factories which make only cheese largely outnumber those which make only butter in these parts of the, Dominion, some of tho larger choose factories are kept going the whole year round. • Those that usually have,a winter spell will recommence manufacturing in September.
A phonograph serves at, a. substitute for a human guide in .a-:'German museum. Visitors '.listen to a description of the paintings and >oMier objects from phonograph records, which, are changed'by an attendant.
