VICTORIAN NATIONAL
NEW ZEALAND'S HOPES
The acceptances for to-day's V.E.C. Grand National Hurdles show that three New Zealand horses remain in the field, Landmark, Halve Up, and Lucess. It was not anticipated that the last named would pay up, and according to a message broadcast la^V evening,
he is to be considered as an unlikely starter. Captain's Gift did hot meet the payment, nor did Bay of Biscay and Gadray, who had been ruling among the principal selections till the date the last mails left Australia.
The broadcast message stated that W. Rennic would be riding Landmark and that I. Tucker would be on Make up- ■ The final acceptances were:— GRAND NATIONAL HURDLE RACE, of 1300 sots; llirce miles. ■ st 1b st lb Mosstrooper .. 12 2 ' Caramclo .... 9 5 Landmark .... 11 1 Liiuiiol 9 "4 Cockcrow 11 0' Alwyninu .... 9 4 Reddltch. 11 0 Dunkeld ...... 9. 3 Make Up 10 6 Daily Mail ..9 3 Claronga .... 10. 1 St. Jlaguus .. fl 2 yaurii g 9 Toidale ....... 9 a I'olyjionum ..
