BRIGADE CONGRATULATED

The following congratulatory order issued by Colonel J, L. Sleernan, C.M.G., C.8.E., M.V.0., Chief Commissioner for tlie St. John Ambulance Brigade Overseas, has just been received from St. John's Gate:—"After my long association with New Zealand, during the Great War and after, it affords me the utmost pleasure to express to all ranks of the brigade in New Zealand my deepest appreciation arid my most grateful thanks for the excellent work under difficult conditions which has been performed during the past two years. The great earthquake found your units in instant and efficient readiness, with the result_ that a considerable saving of suffering was rendered. Other calls mado upon you have boon similarly responded to, and by your efforts you have achieved a reputation throughout the:brigade overseas which stands very high in the annals of the order .which we serve. That in a time of great financial difficulty you have succeeded-in expanding your strength testifies to tho magnificent Bpirit which prevails throughout the Dominion: And I wish to express on behalf of tho order our most grateful thanks for What you havo done, and our deepest appreciation for your magnificent record."

The new Wellington East Ambulance Division reports steady and prdgress- , ivo work, and eight recruits have signed up. Practice in. triangular bandaging was carried out, and Sergeant J. Carlson gave a short talk on the respiratory organs. Mrs. Gaby demonstrated roller bandaging.
