RELATIVE IN DOMINION
(By "Bangatira.")
Trimdon, who subsequently went amiss in training, beat.. the 1930 St. Leger winner, Singapore, by' a: short head in last year's Gold■'. Cup tafter a great race over the "final furlong. Salmon Leap, this year's second horse, finished third, and Ut Majenr,. thia year's third horse, finished seventh.
The, dual success of •Triindon, who is generally conceded to be one of the finest stayers in England when right,, has a special interest to the Dominion, as Mr. V. Eiddiford's imported' mare, Graciosa is a half-sister by Gay Crus-| ader (son of Bayardo) to Trimdon's dam, Trimestral,' the maternal common link of - Trimdon. and ■ Graciosa being the Cyllene mare Mistrella. .Graciosa's progeny in the Dominion to date have been Intruder (by Trespasser, got inc England but foaled in New Zealand), Granado (by. • Limond), and Might (by Limond). Intruder never did much, Granado gave": great* promise but has not yet produced his. best in races, and Might is a likely rising three-year-old with whom Mr. Eiddiford
Hopes to do well ,in next season's classics. It may be noted that Might has been accorded entries in important handicaps in Australia, but no arrangements have yet been made to send'him across the Tasman.
