FREE RAILWAY PASSES
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—-The above heading to £ letter published in "The Post": has put me in nund of a matter which I have many times lately thought of bringing to the notice of the people of this c6\intry, in these hard, times; that is, why all servants (and their" families, large or small) of the New Zealand Railways are granted free (first class) passes over all lines during holiday leave: and, in addition to this concession, are allowed to travel at other times at onequarter of the usual charges. Postal and telegraph officers are not allowed the privilege of dispatching private correspondence free of postage," or the sending of telegrams ad lib. I trust that this matter will be looked into by the Railways Board, if it has not already seen fit to do so.—l am, etc., -.'/
TAXPAYER.
