WAIRARAPA RUGBY UNION

(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") CARTERTOX; This Day. The Management Committee of , the Waharapa Rugby Union met at Carterton last evening, there beiug present Messrs. W. G. Lamb (chairman), E. MeKenzie, A. E. Freeman. F. Dennis, H. Stunnell, i B. Wilson, G. W. Sellar, H.. McPhee, A. E. Booth, P. Lynch.

A motion of sympathy was passed with the relatives of the late Mr. D. N. Edwards.

Mr. A. L. Webster, a vice-president of the union, was accorded a vote of thanks for a. donation to the union funds.

Accounts amounting to £29 11s 3d were passed for payment.

Two players" who were ordered off in the junior match,. Carterton v. Gladstone, on 30th April; were dealt with. One offender was stood down for one playing Saturday, and the other.player for two Saturdays. .. .. .

The Bush Union are to be advised that the union have no objection to club teams entering in their seven-a-side tournament.

It was decided that the junior match with Hawkes Bay on 3rd June be played at Grey town. . Clubs are to be notified that players must not xise suspenders, buckles, or dangerous studs in their boots.

The Carterton and Dalefield Clubs' senior teams captains were reported by a referee for leaving, the field at half-time, in defiance of the ruling not to do so. The union expressed its disapproval of teams leaving the field in defiance of the referee's ruling. It was decided that the match with Auckland be played in Carterton.

Mr. H. J. McKenzie was accorded a vote of thanks for lecturing to players in various^ centres on the rules of the game. A. Tmsley was granted a transfer from Carterton to Dalefield Club. Five players were placed on the accident insurance fund. . -
