A podding of interest to friends all overjNew Zealand was Solemnised at St. Matthew ?& Church, Hastings, yesterday a^ternoo^whenGretchenj eldest daughter of M^and:Mrs. F. Yon Dadelzson, Hastings, was married to Kenneth, son of .Mr..;-/ and v f,Mrs. Giiy,: Palmerston North. As both the ftride, and bridegroom are very well-known and popular in the. district, there was a large gathr ering of relatives and friends from all parts. The church was decorated with pampas grass and long spikes of shaded delphiniums, and on either side of the altar were raised tiers of multi-coloured flowers in brass bowls. The altar itself wasj decorated with pink belladonna lilies' and asparagus ferns. At the entrance doors i were massed huge bunches of dahlias a^d zinnias mixed with Virginian creepers. The bride, who" was escorted by her uncle, Mr. P. A. Pcttit, wore a gown of charming simplicity. It was of triple ivory satin, the bodice fitting * and hanging from the hips with inverted pleats. UJJbe neck was square and inset with old Honiton lace, the same lace being used to flare the skirt. The sleeves were long and close'fitting, and from .the shoulders hung a long court tram of brocaded satin lined with ivory chiffon and edged with pale pinl? frills. The veil of old Honiton lace (lent by a friend), was worn jover the face and caught with a coronet of orange biossoms. A pearl necklace was the only ornament worn, and she carried a sheaf of red' roses and blue delphiniums, and a touch of real orange blossom caught with a blue ribbon. The two bridesmaii Were Misses M- Yon Dadelzsen and E. Cotterill, who were dressed alike m powder blue brodeiie anglaise frocks cut with square necks, and fitting over the hips .with fully flared skirts and finished m front with small velvet bows.. Juliet caps of pearls were also worn, and they each carried a bouquet of red roses, blue delphiniums, and forget-me-nots.- The best man was Mr. Duncan Guy, Palmerston North, and the ushers were Messrs. John Drummond (Puketapu) and Alan Guy (Palmerston North). . nfTh? f Ce rml y T was performed by Rev. Mr. Mortmuffrones, an d Mr. Cecil spinney was at the. organ. After the service a reception was held at the residence of Mrs. H. Holderness, Kitchener street. Here the rooms were artistically arranged with bowls of hydrangeas in pink and blue J^ B'* A larg» floral bell was suspended from the ceiling made of pink ?2r S hlte Ja Panese anemones. Mrs. V®n Daaelzsen (mother of the bride) wore a frock of black wool mariette with a wihe stripe and a black crepe de chme coat, also a black velour hat with a bow at the back. Her bouquet was of fuchsias and delphiniums. Mrs. Guy (mother of the bridegroom) was in a burgunry lace frock with hat to tone. Her bouquet was of apricot roses, pansies, and maidenhair fern. Mrs. Herman yon Dadelzsen was in green floral crepe de chine frock and a green hat. Mrs. H. Holderness wore'navy blue manette embossed in red and a red and navy hat. Mrs. Keble, Alfredton, chose an ensemble of win© laco and! georgette. Other relatives present included Mr. and Mrs. Bert White (Waipawa), Mrs. McLean (Waipawa), Mr. and Mrs. J. Bibby, Mr. and Mrs S Hanna (Auckland), Miss M. Guy (Palmerston). The bride wore a travelling frock of rust-coloured wool maroeain, buttoning over down one side and plaided with a dnll yellow shade. coat was to match, and her hat' also toned with her suit.

A wedding of much interest to New Zealand people • took place at the Cathedral, Nairobi, Kenya Colony, on23rd January, when Miss Joy Upton, daughter of-Mrs. Phillip Upton, Folkestone, England, was married to William Lancelot, son of Mrs. G. H. F. RoDeston and the late Mr. G. H. F. Rolleston, who was formerly Resident Magistrate at Lichcencurd, Transvaal, and H.M. Trade Commissioner for New Zealand. The bridegroom, who is in the King's African Rifles, is a grandson of Sir Francis and Lady Bell, Lowry Bay, and the bride, who visited New Zealand last year, is well known in Wellington. Her beautiful wedding gown of: peaud'ange. faintly tinted with pink was embroidered .with pearls, and %vith it she wore a short coat with elbow cuffs of brown fur. Her straw hat was the same colour. She was escorted by Captain Merinden, of the King's African Rifles, and Mr. Keddy, a subaltern of the regiment, was best man. Mrs. Hector Rolleston, mother of the bridegroom, wore a handsome frock and short coat of string-coloured lace and a straw hat of the same tone. A reception was afterwards held in the mess of the King's African Rifles.
