FORTY-THREE BELLS HUNG
The work of hanging the bells in the National War Memorial tower at Mount Cook, Wellington, in readiness for Anzac Day is steadily advancing, and it is expected that, the laSt of the bells will be hung by Thursday. There are forty-nine bells altogether, and, including two medium-sized ones which were put into place this morning, fortythree have already been hung. Four of the bigger ones are at present on the ground floor of the tower, and it is expected that they will be hung to-day and to-morrow. The two largest bells, "Reo Wairua" (meaning "Spirit Voice") and "The Somme," the former weighing five tons and the latter four and a half tons, were taken up to the tower to-day from Mercer street, and Mr. A.
