DUBLIN, 27th March.
Mr. Patrick Ruttledge, Minister of Fisheries in the new Irish Government, in a speech at Ballina,. declared that Mr. de Valera would not only retain the Irish land annuities, but intended to divide the lands among the most deserving people. "De Valera," he said, "stands for Christian Government and equal rights for all. The Cosgraveites stand for Freemasonry and are hampering the nation's progress. "De Valera will make the country self-supporting and self-sufficient, providing work for everybody. The people are at present in Barna Buill (the gap of danger), but de Valera .will lead them to safety."
