WOMEN AS ASSASSINS
ATTEMPT ON GOVERNOR
CALCUTTA, ;6th February. While addressing the convocation of the Calcutta University to-day,, the Governor of Bengal, Sir Francis Jackson; was fired at by, a woman graduate of the Diocesan College. The Governor was unhurt.
The name of the assailant is Bina Das. She is aged 30, and hails from Chittagong. She is an Anglican missionary student and was due for a degree.
When searched, a packet of prussic acid was found concealed in her clothing.
She deliberately fired four or five shots. His Excellency bent low ana the bullets struck the walL The Governor continued his address after her arrest.
