Wellington defeated Wairarapa by 13 rubbers to 11, 35 sets to 27, or 294 games to 280, in a representative match played at Martinbofough on Saturday.
Results are as follows (Wellington players being mentioned first in each case): — Men's Singles.—R. McL. Ferkins beat E. M. Hodder, 6-4, 6-0; Lezard lost to N. Miller, 4-6, 2-6; H. D. Reid beat L. D. Keedwell, 6-5, 6-3; N. Davys beat C. W. Penney, 5-6, 6-3, 6-4; R. Howe beat G. S. MeLeod, 6-5, 3-6, 6-4; Livingstone beat E. B. Wellwood, 6-4, 6-4. Men's Doubles.—Ferkins and Lezard lost to Hodder and Wellwood, 6-3, 1-6, 2-6; Reid and Davys beat Miller and MeLeod, 6-3, 5-6, 10-8; Howe and" Livingstone beat Keedwell and Penney, 3-6, 6-3, 6-1. Women's Singles.—Miss North lost to Mrs. R. H. McMaster, 6-2,- 3-6, 0-6; Miss M. East lost to Miss N. Graham, 6-4, 1-6, 1-6; Mrs. E. Campbell lost to Miss N. G. Welch, 4-6, 4-6; Miss M. Whisker lost to Miss R. G. Bradley, 1-6, 5-6; Mrs. Latta lost to Miss M Cameron, 3-6, 6-4; Miss V. Dyer beat Miss B. Swainson, 6-4, 6-5.
Women's Doubles. —Misses East and North lost to Mrs. McMaster and Miss Graham, 5-6, 6-4, 2-6; Mrs. Campbell and Miss Whisker lost to Misses Welch and Swainson, 4-6, 6-1, 4-6; Mrs. Latta and Miss Dyer lost to Misses Cameron and Bradley, 6-5, 5-6, 5-6.
