RESULTS SATISFACTORY

Both the fzrst and second prizes in the Diggers' Aft Union, which was drawn in the Concert Chamber on Saturday, night, were won by Christchureh ,-residents. A total of £3005 of the prize money went to the South Island and £995 to the North.

The Art Union was in aid of the funds of the Wellington Returned Soldiers' Association and of the Wellington Hostel for Returned Soldiers and Sailors, ana, although no definite announcement could be made, Colonel Avery, president of the Wellington-R.S.A., stated on Saturday inght that it was expected that the profits would be highly satisfactory, and would enable the hostel to carry ,on its work in the interests of returned men requiring assistance.
