POSITION AT PETONE
SOME MEN RESUME
Seventeen men offered to start work at Petone this morning, but in view of the fact that the strikers were holding a meeting at 10 o 'clock to consider tho position, it was decided not to start work until this afternoon. Tho men began work on tho beach after lunch. Since then other applications have been received from men wishing to resume. The Press was again excluded from the strikers' meeting this morning. Mr. W. Nash, M.P., and the Eev. F. S. Bamson wero present, and tho former addressed the gathering. The meeting had no definite information as to how many men had left the relief jobs in tho city, and so it could reach no finality. Tho next meeting will be at 2 o'clock to-morrow afternoon, when a definite decision may be made..
