Y.W.C.A. GARDEN PARTY
BEAUTIFUL GROUNDS
On Saturday next a garden patty will be given at the beautiful home of Mr. and Mrs. B. Sutherland, Karori, in' aid of the funds of the T.W.C.A. ■ The association is in urgent need of funds to carry on the work in > "Wellington. The overhead' expenses- in those days ate very heavy/ with the Community Building to keep up as well as the welfare and social'service rendered to the girls and women of the city. "The unemployment work also adds a great deal, to the expense and responsibility of the association workers. In addition to the j pleasure of tie gardens, where there are conservatories full of gorgeous blossoms, ferneries, a fish-pond, bush walks, fine lawns, and all the.accessories that make for interest and enjoyment for garden lovers, there will be stalls with faneywork, cakes, sweets, and produce. There will also be afternoon tea and1 ice creams. Amusing and interesting competitions for old and young have' been arranged. There- -will <be a fancy i dress parade for children, and Mrs. A. W. Hutchings, "Aunt,Daisy"of2KA,| and Miss Earle, have consented to judgo the frocks for prizes. These prizes will bo given for.the best, most original, and least expensive costumes, for Tioys and.girls separately. '-Altogether a dolightful afternoon's outing has been ar-| ranged, and it is hoped that all who i appreciate the "work .carried on in the' city by the association will tako this J opportunity of assisting fey their pre-, sence and patronage at the party.
