CONFERENCE ENDS
FINAL PROCEEDINGS

The conference' of tho New Zealand Federation ' of. University Women concluded to da>. The following delegates weie appointed to represent New Zealand at the international conference in Edinburgh: Dr. E. Bryson (Wellington), Dr. Hilda Noithcroft (Auckland), Miss D. Yates (Auckland). The election of officers wssulted:— Dominion president, 'Dr. E. Bryson (Wellington), vice presidents, Miss M. E. Sims, Miss A. I\ Ironside (Canterbury), Dr. Ada, Pateisou (Welling ton), secretaiy, itis,s C, Home (Wellington)} treaauici, Miss M. C. Clachan (Wellington). -* J It was decided to transfer the Dominion headquaiters to Wellington. Coirespondence was, tlealt -with, including notification labouL the Bryn Mawr scholarships, being, scholarships of 1000 dollars each offered by this Ainencan college to,foroign women who wish to pursuo ( , advanced ivork in America, and ,^ho*haye had aheady three or four yea vrs if university training . fci V ' Miss E. Following a on disaimament, the following motion was earned: I'This-conference desires to express its earnest ~wtsni for the success of the Disarmament Conference, and that the secretary, be instructed to send a cablegram to' the^secretary at Geneva, embodying this motion." Alterations in^ the f constitution were discussed, and ways and means of raising the accessary £2000 for a fellowship fund the next five years. Delegates wero entertained at a garden party. Last evening addresses were given by Miss Sims and Mrs. Taylor. Miss Sims dealt with ths Pan-Pacific Association. She described its aims and gavo a full descnption of the proposed programme and the work to be undertaken for the, next conference. She also spoke of the desirability of trying to arrange that the next conference should be held in Auckland. v Mrs. Taylor, gave an address on the nationality of married women, pointing out the disabilities under which a married woman labours when she marries1 a man, of t another The struggle o"f women for many years past to remedy this condition ni affairs was outlined.
