~ Following upon reports from Hawaii that the citizens are< .demanding martial law to restore order, President Hoover,'the Cabinet, the-Department of Justice,'' and the House Committee on Naval AfEairs~have opened .-individual inquiries iiio the situation, which is causing- ■an exceptional amount of excitement here. -:■•■■ , ' .-
Mr. Kaleoaloha ;Houston,- Hawaiian delegate to the Congress, has dispatched to the Honolulu newspapers a message stating: "I hope, that for. the sake of Hawaii^ the'guilty will surrender and, in paying the, supreme -sacrifice, help to clear the name of pur land and rehabilitate our reputation." ' '.'
Unrest has existed in, Hawaii follows ing the murder of a Japanese yonth. He had been acquitted of a charge pt being'one of several who assaulted a white woman. The woman's husband, an American naval officer, ani his mother-in-law,' 'and two Unlisted :men, have been arrested.' Naval rioting preceded the murder. ■ ;.-■'■ .
