AUCKLAND, 12 th... January. Two. intermediate: and two junior New Zealand records were broken at' the carnival conducted -in the Tepid Baths by the Auckland Swimming Centre to-night. In the intermediate 75 yards girls' breastslroko Miss J. Webster swam tho distance in 61 l-ssec beating her previous record of 63sec!formerly held by Miss:D.: Downian of Auckland. In the 220 yards' freestyle, N. Crump covered tho distance in 2min 34 2-ssec, lowering the record of 2min 35sec held by G. Bridson, of Auckland.. In the junior 50 yards girls» : free-styJe, Miss E. Eaincy. did 31 S-ssec, against the 32sec held by Miss B.;Low, Canterbury. In the 100 yards free-style, Miss Rainey swam in 75sec, lowering the figures; of 75 2-ssee heia by Miss P. Sporle, of Manawatu. The following team was chosen to represent Auckland in the intermediate junior championships to be held at Wellington on 22na and 23rd January: N. Crump, Misses N. Ludlow, J. Webster (intermediate), ana Misses E. Bainey and C.' Walters (juniors).
