vJJn response to the call for economy, the DukeV of York, who has hunted with the Pytchley for several seasons, has decided, to give up hunting this season, and' has cancelled his lease of Thornby Grange, in Northamptonshire, 'says the A'Daily Telegraph." He is disposing of several of his hunters at Leicester, but it is hoped that he will retain a few and travel from London to hunt for a few odd days during the season. Several other followers of the Pytchley have decided not to hunt this season, and consequently, tho Hunt is considering a restriction of the number of hunting days a week.
Russia is training more than 30,000 air pilots and mechanics through her military organisation every year.i
UNEMPLOYMENT PROBLEM,
A SOLUTION
The problem of unemployment during the winter months ia engaging tho attention of most of the civilised countries of the world. ;-^
N.Z. Perpetual Forests, Ltd., are assisting in its solution in New Zealand with their-200 square miles of softwood plantations. The maintenance of these areas, and the planting of further areas, requires the services of approximately 1000 men during tho winter season, and' necessitates the paying of nearly £100,000 per annum in wages. When pulp and paper-making mills are,established the number of nien and women employed will naturally be' increased by several thousand.—Advt.
