TRAM TERMINI
"DANGEROUS BOTTLE-
NECKS"
Dangerous bottle-necks, wag the description given by members at last night's meeting of the executive of the Wellington Automobile Club to -twn tramway termini, one at the Hotel Cecil corner opposite Lambton Station, and the other at the tramway barn in Thorn. don quay at.the foot of Tinakori road. It was decided to make reprcsentationr to the City Council with a view to an> improvement being made at the two points. The chairman (Mr. E. A. Batt) said he thought very definite and firm action should bo taken by tho club to impress upon the City Council the danger oi tram congestion at the end of Thorndon quay, and that the practice of allowing trams to stand there should be discontinued. Ho said it was qiiita common to see several trams standing at this point at varying angles. Ons motorist had told him only that day that he had had a very narrow escape from a big smash. The situation could be remedied, he suggested, if ths chango-over points'were put back 109 yards nearer the city. "
Another dangerous locality, said-Mr, H. W. Shortt, was the Hotel Cecil corner. "It is a wicked place,' there,'* he added.
