CLASH WITH POLICE
TROUBLE OVER TRIAL Al!
ROME
(Received Bth December, 2 p.Jn)
;■■ BELGRADE, 7th December.. There were many sore heads and ;ribt = among two thousand university stu--dents, who, disgruntled at the ■ disallowance of a Sunday meeting in protest at the trial "of their compatriots at Rome for alleged anti-Italianism, assembled in the forenoon to march on Parliament. The police with truncheons and rifle butts repelled the p .seething mass, and kept them to a snails pace. There was a momentary truce when the King, motoring past, smiled at the students, who lustily cheered. Then the police resumed their pummelling, till all were locked in. The university students then appeared at the window!1 and bombarded the police with furniture and heavy tomes till hunger 'restored sanity.
