SPEEDWAY RACING
ENGLISH TEAM ARRIVING.
Four of England's noted speedway riders are due in Wellington by the Mataroa on Thursday, and two of them are to compete at the Kilbirnie Stadium Speedway on Saturday night. With the visit of these "cinder shifters" there should be a new and greater interest in speedway racing, and the performances of the visitors during the past season in England suggest that unusually good displays sliould be- seen when the riders are in action here. Tom Farndon and Roger Frogley, both of whom contributed well to the many successes of Crystal Palace in this year's speedway competitions in England, are the visitors to compete at Kilbirnie on Saturday night, and as both have represented England in Tests with Australia they should be a formidable pair in competition with the best of the local riders. W. Kilmister, however, is in record-breaking form, as indicated by his performances at Auckland last Saturday, and he should be one to keep the visitors busy. It will be no new experience for him to meet Farndon and Frogley under match-racing conditions. It is expected of Farndon in particular that he will be one of the greatest riders ever sucn on New Zealand tracks.
