HITLER'S DECLARATION
•MONSTROUS EXTORTION"
LONDON, 7th December,
The. .Paris correspondent of '' The Times" reports that Hitler's declaration that a Nazi Government would be unwilling to pay the "monstrous extortion passing under the name of reparations" has aroused indignation, mingled with anxiety and rising doubts as to whether negotiations are useful inasmuch as the Nazis might repudiate any agreement made with. Brueninjf. Tho presence of Herr Bosenberg in London, and Hitler's intended visit to Eome, are regarded as manoeuvres to enlist foreign sympathy at France's expense. ; The Berlin correspondent of "The Times" says the Bruening Government has taken no direct notice of Hitler's activities, which some regard as an indication that tho Chancellor's grip is failing.
