Obituary.

Very deep regret will be felt in Wellington at the news of the death of Mrs. Morpeth, of Wellington terrace, wife of Mr. C. D. Morpeth, a well-kuown Wellington citizen. Mrs. Morpeth was a daughter of the late Mr. Pope, a former inspector of schools in Wellington district, and an. early resident of this city. Her character and personality were outstandingly fine, and she identified herself with many good works. But mainly was she interested in the Y.W.C.A., having been one of the early promoters of the association in Wellington, and always an earnest worker and committee member. Mrs. Morpeth's understanding affection, for girls of all classes made her one of tho finest workers, and it is impossibles to gauge the value of her work, done so kindly and faithfully for so many years. She has been on. the Board of Directors of tho Y.W.C.A. for many years, and was acting-president, chairman of the hostel committee, and senior vice-presi-dent, and will be greatly missed in tho work. In the past Mrs. Morpeth was a splendid worker in war time, and wus foremost in helping all good causes for the soldiers, and has since done many kindnesses for the ex-service men and their families. Her private kindnesses were many, and she was one who was loved and valued by a very large circle of friends. Deep sympathy will bo felt for her husband and daughters —Miss Mollie Morpeth, Mrs. Greig, and Mrs. Entrican. Tho following message has comis from the Y.W.C.A. in connection with the death of Mrs. Morpeth:— "Owing «to the passing of Mrs. C. D. Morpeth, who was senior vice-prosident of the association, the Y.W.C.A. board and committee meetings which were to bu held during the next three days have been postponed until next week.''
