THE HAWKE CUP
I (Ey Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHUKCII, 11th November. At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Cricket Council, Mr. T. H. Bates was elected president. Mr. D. Reese, the retiring president, was elected a life member. The following management committee was elected:—Dr. Foster, Messrs. J. Ramsden, E. R. Caygill, H. M. Taylor, P. Dalrymple. Mr. A. ■ T.. Donnelly had written declining nomination to the council. It was resolved that all umpires in the Plunket Shield matches be appointed by the management committee of the council, any expenses of such umpires to be a charge against the associations conj cerned. It was decided to alter the rules of the Hawke Cup to provide for all matches to be played to a finish and that the hours of play be from 10.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. It was proposed to vote £125 to the Hawkes Bay Association to assist in the rehabilitation of grounds, but after discussion it was decided to leave the amount to the discretion of the management committee.
