At the last meeting of the sxecm tive of the Early Settlers' Association^ a letter was received from, the Town,' Clerk, drawing attention to the.ungatisfaetory condition of the graves in! Bolton Street Cemetery, and asMng the, assistance of the association m th« matter The correspondence was placed] with Mr. C. Tandy, of 5, Banfuriyj terrace, the Early Settlers' Assoeifttiort organiser, who has agreed to place ma services at the disposal of any. person who will go into the matter of renovat" ing. the graves in any of the cenieterie^ in Wellington. ■ Now that there is so much unemploy* ment, the work can be done at 4 mod* crate cost, and this would remove th»' criticism that graves of '< pioneers aiid others who helped to make Wellington what it is are not kept. ad tb.ejj ought to be. # Mr. Tandy hopes to get an touch witM relatives who have forgotten.or hay«( left the city.
