Important reforms are provided for in the policy of the United Australia Party. It is proposed that there be a scientific revision of the tariff for the economic rehabilitation of Australia. The abolition of the existing overlapping of industrial awards in the State and Commonwealth would be achieved by conferring on the Federal authority the power to fix a basic: wage and standard hours of work.
